After the Monarch was back at the start out of nowhere, Nike came around the corner with the M2K Tekno. The sneaker was only released as a women’s release at first and it was really difficult to buy a pair of M2K Tekno for a short time. Due to its initial small size run and its relationship to the “Dad-Shoe”, the M2K also got the appropriate nickname – “Mom-Shoe”. In the meantime it has turned out that the bulky sneaker is very well suited as an everyday beater. So we find it all the more gratifying that we can now buy the shoe in bulk. One sneaker for sunny days, one for rainy days, one for partying, one for customizing.
Another sneaker was also involved in the success of this shoe. The Air Monarch from Nike was long forgotten and is still considered the epitome of the dad shoe. Almost as if by chance, the sneaker, which is actually associated with gymnastics instructors, totally fit into the trend and so did its new edition, the M2K Tekno. The hype was huge and people bought both sneakers for all they were worth. Comparing the shapes, you can clearly see how much the Air Monarch has been updated. The silhouette now looks much more modern, dynamic and stylish. The sole of the M2K is much more exaggerated and present and is visibly raised at the heel. The comfort of the Monarch has also been increased on the M2K Tekno, which is particularly pleasing.
Although the releases were initially kept somewhat smaller, the model was also available early on at major retailers such as Zalando, Snipes and Co. The most popular colorways include the M2K Tekno Phantom, the Pink and the John Elliott aka Team Orange. Those who like it classic in color can buy the M2K in black or white.
In addition to the color variety and the absolutely modern style, the price also speaks for a M2K Tekno. Retail is only 99.90 euros for the sneaker – a good everyday sneaker.
