INFRARED. One word is enough – and every sneakerhead knows immediately which shoe it is. With this colorway, the sneaker has become famous and has burned itself into our hearts. Initially, the Nike Air Max 90 was actually a professional running shoe, but has quickly made it to the streetwear staple and onto the feet of sneakerheads, rappers, pro athletes and fashionistas. No wonder – because the 90s OG version comes from none other than Tinker Hatfield.
The icon was designed by Tinker Hatfield. Anyone who has even a glimmer of passion for sneakers should already know this name. He is responsible for the Air Max 1, the Jordan 3 or 5 and many other sneakers.
The first colorway that was available for purchase is now called Infrared. Fun Fact: The designation for the bright red tone Nike uses only since 2003. Speaking of designation, the silhouette itself, was later renamed Air Max 3 and was bought so often that it is now one of the most successful styles from the series, belongs.
Basically, the Nike AM90 appears annually in classic as well as fresh colorways. If you are looking for an Air Max 90, you should usually be able to find one online or in-store at any time. In most cases, you even have a choice of different color combinations and materials. The AM 90 has already appeared with various textures – patent, suede, smooth leather and even Flyknit, have already served as an upper.
Also in terms of collabos, the Air Max 90 doesn’t let itself go and is a popular sneaker with the partners. Virgil Abloh and Off White, Patta and Kaws are just a few of the names that got their own AM90. One of the most glorious collaborations came about with a store that has since closed. The AM 90 Bacon, which was created in collaboration with Dave’s Quality Meats from New York, is still one of the Grails for fans today.
