The Colorado 85 celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. For this reason, Onitsuka Tiger and the British heavyweight END have decided to collaborate.The Colorado 85 Bluebird takes its inspiration and naming from nature, as this collabo is dedicated to the beautiful bluebirds of the Colorado Mountains.The intense blue hue makes these special birds something very special. But it is not the plumage that is responsible for the blue hue, but the top transparent layer of feathers, which absorbs all visible wavelengths of light - except blue - due to a multitude of small air pockets. Only the vivid, deep blue is reflected, giving the impression that the bluebird's feathers are actually blue. In order to reflect the full colorfulness of the bird, Onitsuka Tiger and END have used other shades of blue such as "Blue Jewel", "Milky Blue" and "Aquarius" to give the shoe the necessary accentuation, while the upper of the Bluebird consists of perforated suede, reflective Tiger Stripes and a 3M Scotchlite element on the heel.
