The official launch of the Air Max Nike iD HTM models took place in Berlin yesterday. b0b and I arrived on Wednesday to enjoy a dinner together with some other friends and acquaintances. Among others, my buddy Runnerwally, Eda from Turnschuh.TV, the Sneakers Mag and of course the lovely colleagues from Nike themselves were there, and on Thursday we started right on time at 09:30. The event took place at the Bikini Berlin location, in the middle of Charlottenburg in the west of the city. To warm up ( or wake up? ;-) ) we started with a breakfast together before we went to the presentation of the new Air Max iD HTM models. At the event, there was also a small foretaste of the models that will be released around Air Max Day. But more on that at another point. :)The three minds behind the HTM design collective should be familiar to anyone interested in sneakers. Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker have shaped the brand like no other and have jointly developed a number of successful models for Nike. Now, for Air Max Day 2016, the three designers are inviting you to collaborate and become part of Air Max history, and for a short time only, you can contribute to the design of three legendary Air Max models with different color palettes and exclusive materials: the Air Max 95 H iD, the Air Max 1 T iD and the Air Max 2014 Flyknit M iD.The Air Max 95 H iD comprises a design palette made of high-quality suede and smooth leather, which has been kept in neutral shades. Understatement à la Fragment is the keyword here. Our favourite Tinker Hatfield has dedicated himself to the Air Max 1 Hyperfuse, which you can equip with colorways inspired by the Centré Pompidou in Paris. Of the three models mentioned, the Air Max 1 Hyperfuse is my favorite! The colors are great and I don't even need to mention the shape of the silhouette. With the Flyknit Air Max 2014, Mark Parker was motivated by his love of nature. The palette of different color gradients of the Flyknit material was inspired by iridescent insects. I really like the Flyknit Air Max 2014, but for me the 2014 is the weakest silhouette of the three selected models and I already mentioned a few sentences ago that the Air Max 1 T iD is my absolute favorite of the three models. Logically, my choice also fell on the 1. I'm really happy with my design, but prefer not to show you a picture of it yet. :) As I said, the options won't be available for long, so I'd be happy if my Air Max 1 T iD remained an absolute one-off. As soon as my design arrives, I will of course show you one or two pictures of the sneaker, but if you are interested in trying out the options of the three models, have a look at Nike iD. As far as I know, the models have been available for a few days, but will be removed from the range on March 26. So you shouldn't wait too long to order your own design.Have fun designing!
