For those who are surprised: Skepta and Nike parted ways in 2022. But if you want to continue to benefit from Skepta's creativity, you should take a look at Puma from now on. In September 2022, it was announced that Skepta would serve as Global Ambassador for Puma. During Paris Fashion Week, at the Casablanca runway show to be precise, Skepta has now worn the new Puma Velophasis. All information about the shoe and the release can be found here in the article.

Skepta will not only act as a classic influencer for Puma. The collaboration is between Big Smoke Corporation (a Skepta company) and Puma. They should help the German brand to give the men's department a new vision. Skepta doesn't just want to be an advertising figure or design its own sneaker, but rather have a creative influence on all areas. In an interview with Hypebeast , he explains that he is responsible for Puma's "tech and street side". He wants to bring the "London energy" from videos like "Shutdown" to Puma. And the vision probably starts now with the Puma Velophasis.

"I always get picked out by my friends and team to do things. To be the front man. But it's the whole team that makes me who I am. So it's great that PUMA has given me the scope to employ my friends and do it properly and let them do what they enjoy doing."

THIS IS WHAT THE VELOPHASIS LOOKS LIKE

Puma's Velophasis comes at just the right time, in line with the current Y2K trend. For this new design, PUMA was inspired by its archive. Namely from the Complete collection from the 00s. The Velophasis builds on the technological heritage of iCELL, e+CELL and EverRide. The upper of the Velophasis is constructed asymmetrically. The inserts are taken directly from the running sport of the 2000s, but equipped with new materials. Honeycomb mesh, textured panels and an aggressive shape pay homage to the Complete collection's heritage.

There will be two different models, the Bionic and the Phased. The first colourways are inspired by more modern aesthetics. The Bionic comes with a metallic look with cream and blue inserts. While the three phased come with light tones and bright color accents. Very nice shoe, reminiscent of Asics. We are curious how the demand behaves.
