The Air Jordan 5 first saw the light of day in 1990, and to celebrate this anniversary, Jordan Brand Awake NY have teamed up. The result is a reinterpretation of the classic AJ5 that is heavily inspired by New York's rich streetwear culture. The design remains true to the original and at the same time gets a new twist. The double logo on the tongue and matching branding on the translucent outsole symbolize the partnership between Jordan and Awake NY. The distinctive Awake NY "A" logo is integrated into the ventilation inserts of the Jordan 5. Instead of the traditional "23" on the right heel, there is the "NY" logo.
The visible Air cushioning provides the usual comfort. With translucent lacelocks and special packaging, this sneaker pays homage to the OG look and is also a clear declaration of love for New York City.
