Nike is off to a strong start in the new year and will surprise us with a new Jordan next Saturday. The Jordan 9 Olive will be released on January 7, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. and expands the brand's catalog with a new colorway. 30 years later, the silhouette is still associated with Michael Jordan's retirement in 1993. The AJ 9 is the first silhouette to appear after the number 23 basketball player retired from pro basketball. Nevertheless, the Tinker Hatfield sneaker made it onto the field and later into one or the other wardrobe. The model made a comeback last year after making its way out of the Jumpman archives.
The Jordan 9 Olive shows that the sneaker should not only celebrate a short return and that we can probably look forward to one or the other release this year. The new retro colourway brings us back the OG from 1994 and also has a mainly black upper made of smooth leather. The sole is also kept in the same hue and frames the olive green nubuck overlay that extends from the heel to the toe box. The Jumpman logo is placed on the heel like a kind of wax seal and, like the embroidered 23, is also framed in turquoise.
