To mark the 30th anniversary of the adidas 1000 ZX, the Berlin store, which stands behind the ZX series like no other, designed a model that now completes the series.The adidas ZX 10,000 was created in collaboration with in-house creative designers and unmistakably bears the iconic ZX DNA. The new model thus fits perfectly into the colorful ZX history. Another special highlight was the collaboration of Jacques Chassaing. In the 1980s, he played a key role in the development of the ZX series and provided irreplaceable input for the new design. The final result is the adidas ZX 10,000 with the popular ZX upper in combination with a Cushion sole, which was also used in the EQT series - the perfect symphony of two concepts that significantly shaped the 90s and once again describes the Overkill team's attitude to life. It's an even greater honor that Overkill has now been allowed to design its own colorway as part of a consortium release. Not surprisingly, the boys chose the colors of the 4-digit ZX models as their inspiration. The idea behind this was to create a "best of". It was no easy task to create a harmonious interplay of colors. The name of the colorway also pays homage to days gone by. The former adidas Torsion slogan from 1989 "I want, I can" was transformed and the ZX 10,000 found its name - "I can if I want." The Overkill x adidas Consortium ZX 10,000 package will include another sneaker in a completely different colorway in addition to the pair. You heard right - a single shoe. Whether it's the right or the left sneaker will be decided by chance. The third shoe is once again a tribute to the 1000 series, but what you do with it is up to you. Whether as a collector's item, a mixed combination on the foot or as a puzzle piece of a very rare pair - you decide. With three sneakers, the box is of course also a special one, because the good pieces have to find their place somewhere. The oversized box in the design of the original 90s ZX boxes inevitably reminds me of the three-breasted social media girl who made headlines with her intergalactic three breasts in a golden bikini due to its inner design and subdivision. Somehow it looks wrong, but one pair is never enough!!!Overkill wouldn't be Overkill if the team hadn't planned a special event for you for the release. The multimedia exhibition at the Alte Münze in Berlin nineties.berlin will be completely dedicated to the new adidas Consortium ZX 10,000. In addition to an exhibition with original models from the ZX 1000 series, there will be a video shot exclusively for the release. Overkill visited the ZX 10,000 design team in Herzogenaurach and bombarded them with questions so that you can go home with lots of new knowledge. This video will then be presented on a huge 270° screen on February 9th. The screens were of course created in the ZX design in collaboration with the Berlin artist Herr von Bias. The event will be musically accompanied by the sounds of the 90s and, as already suspected, DJ JNS will be behind the turntables, but Overkill is also breaking all boundaries when it comes to merchandise, because in addition to the ZX 10,000 you can buy a variety of "I can if I want" merchandise. Whether it's T-shirts in the ZX design, postcards, key rings, magnets, stickers, posters, sticker sheets or magnetic sheets, everyone should be able to find what they're looking for here. The release event with all its special features is rounded off by the sale of the book, which was already sold at the London exhibition "The Roots of Running" and reflects the entire range of the ZX series. As in London, all proceeds from the sale will be donated to the poor (in this case: Berlin homeless charity).
