The Velvet Underground x Supreme Collection

Supreme puts this week's drop all about New York rock band The Velvet Underground.

The Velvet Underground was an experimental rock band formed in New York City in 1964. Its initial line-up consisted of Lou Reed, John Cale, Angus MacLise and Sterling Morrison. On their debut album in 1967, the boys were supported by Maureen Tucker and Nico. Due to their provocative lyrics about sadomasochism, transvestitism and drug addiction, the band remained largely unsuccessful during their existence. From today's perspective, however, the band is regarded as a pioneer of experimental rock music.

Supreme has now taken this different band to task and is dedicating a collection consisting of a rayon shirt, ringer tee, two hooded sweatshirts and three T-shirts to the boys as part of its F/W 19 range. All pieces feature prints of the original album covers from The Velvet Underground's discography.
