Supreme x Independent

As an old "skateboarding bunny", I am of course particularly pleased when Supreme collaborates with another brand from the skateboarding scene. The collaborations with TNF, Stone Island and the like are usually nice to look at, but simply not interesting for real rollerboarders. Why? Because "not real". That's why Supreme has chosen none other than Independent as its partner for this week. The Independent trucks have always had a reputation for being indestructible and have underlined this with exceptionally rad team riders like Mike Vallely. In my day, when I was still a teenager, Independent trucks were just way too heavy and massive for me. Orion and Venture were always my first choice back then, but the Supreme x Independent collection has become a bit boring in my eyes, because I was hoping that Supreme would play a bit more with the unmistakable "reputation" of Independent. I see a lot more potential there than in the items I have to present to you in this post.The collection includes a nylon anorak, a sherpa bomber jacket, flannel shirts, crewnecks, sweatshirts and a few other pieces like shirts and caps. Personally, I think the flannel shirts are cool because they best reflect the reputation of independent: masculine, loud and somehow rhoooooarrr! Unfortunately, I find the rest of the range rather semi-cool and I label it as an "easy pass". They just didn't put enough effort into it. It's a real shame, but if you remember, the last (skate) collabo with Thrasher was an absolute disaster and the collaboration between Supreme and Independent will be released this Thursday. It starts at 12:00 on Supreme.
