Nike - MATTHEW WILLIAMS launches new collection

Camouflage with a difference - Matthew Williams, founder of the fashion label 1017 ALYX 9SM, has a soft spot for numbers and algorithms. He proves this once again with his second collection for Nike, taking performance clothing to a whole new level.

In an impressive way, Williams has made use of Nike's extensive digital design tools to create a symphony between the human body and the available data and facts. For his very first collection for Nike, the number cruncher investigated new methods of manufacturing shirts and considered different requirements for a shirt using a wide variety of structures.

For his second collection, Matthew Williams is now going one step further:

"For this collection, we used computational algorithms to create the camouflage pattern!"

I'm sure all number nerds are cringing with delight right now, because let's not kid ourselves, the well-known camo pattern finds its inspiration in nature. But not so with William's second collection. Using computer algorithms, the creative mind created really great patterns that are perfectly adapted to the natural shapes of the human body.

The entire range appears timeless and is perfect for hardcore outdoor athletes. This was very important to Williams and still emphasizes the suitability for various fitness activities. Overall, the collection consists of fleece jackets, two-in-one pants, functional vests, hoodies with detachable hoods, socks and underwear and is bursting with functionality.

"When you're running, you get wet mainly the top of your shoulders, so we ensured rain coverage in that spot!"

The exclusive release took place in Paris on January 19 as part of a pop-up store. We can then look forward to a release of the collection on February 7 at selected retailers and online at Nike.
