Nike Cortez 2015 - Release notes
This week, one of the Nike icons from Beaverton is coming to the starting line!
The Nike Cortez was first released in 1972 and was one of the hits in the relatively young running scene at the time. The model achieved a special status thanks to the movie Forrest Gump, in which one of the oldest sports shoe silhouettes was given very special attention.
Now Nike is giving Cortez fans a very special treat and sending the Cortez back into the race in the OG colorway. White upper, red Swoosh - accentuated by blue accents. A classic colorway that still works on almost all models.
Personally, I'm still on the hunt for a genuine OG Cortez. There are some really cool variants on eBay. Full suede or nylon, plus a solid baby swoosh on the heel. I've really seen it all.
The official release is planned for February 28, i.e. next Saturday. The stores I know of are the Nike online shop and Overkill.
