KangaROOS Veteran (MiG) - Make Love, Not War!

The mother of all festivals, Woodstock, is celebrating its 50th birthday and KangaROOS is joining in the fun!

In this day and age, you often wonder what has actually happened to the value system of days gone by? At the time of the most famous festival, Woodstock, in the late 1960s, the focus was still on humanity and openness. With these values, Woodstock developed into a protest event against the Vietnam War and the Cold War and the phrase "Make Love, Not War" became the leitmotif of an entire generation.

KangaROOS is also celebrating its 40th birthday in 2019. The brand therefore stems from the late foothills of this period - even though the Cold War was still on everyone's lips at the end of the 70s.

So why not create a sneaker that picks up on the spirit of the time and tries to convey it? KangaRoos has come up with a very special concept and is now presenting the veteran (MiG) "Make Love, Not War" made from old, used Bundeswehr tents.

The army tents were professionally cleaned and turned into Made in Germany sneakers. The majority of the upper is therefore made of a camouflage stain, which gave the tents concealing properties during their active time. Other components are suede and calfskin from Italy, certified with the Blue Angel, which demonstrably identifies ecologically better product alternatives. Rubber (outsole) and our obligatory DYNACOIL cushioning system in the midsole have also been used. The veteran thus clearly stands for sustainability.
