As the year is almost coming to an end, we decided to take a look back at the 2019 sneaker trends. Which releases and styles were particularly hot and what did the brands launch? Did you prefer wide dad shoes or narrow sock sneakers? Let's go!

Dad shoes

The most influential sneaker trend in 2019 was the dad shoe. Every brand launched an "ugly" silhouette in 2019 at the latest and did so successfully. These include, for example, the YEEZY 500, the New Balance 993 and the Nike Air Monarch; all of which are still popular today. How many pairs of dad shoes do you already have in your closet?

Sock Sneaker

Another sneaker trend of the year is the sock sneaker, which took place more in the high fashion segment. Balenciaga were right at the forefront with their Sock Runner. The sneaker with the lettering on the toebox has been worn by seemingly every rapper and copied by all high street brands.

Chunky sneaker

Although "chunky" and "dad shoe" are often mentioned in the same sentence, they are two different, independent sneaker trends. Examples of chunky sneakers include the Balenciaga Triple-S and the Disruptor from Fila. These shoes come with an exaggerated sole, which gives them a chunky fit. How can you tell the difference between the two trends? Just imagine your dad in Triple-S...unlikely, right?

All White Leather

Sometimes you need a classic sneaker that's easy to combine and still looks clean. The models in the "All White" trend are all that and are also easy to care for thanks to their smooth leather upper. If something does get on your white sneakers, it's no big deal, as these styles are perfect for beaters. adidas Originals delivered a total of 10 styles in the all-white leather look with their "Home of Classics" collection, which are still available today.

Skate sneakers á la Nike SB

The latest sneaker trend for 2019 is skate sneakers such as Nike SB Dunks. Strictly speaking, the trend has never really gone away and A$ap Rocky even surprised us last year with an Under Armour collabo reminiscent of éS, Etnies and co. Get ready for thick tongues and wide soles and be inspired by what's to come in the future. If you still have an old pair of skate sneakers in the basement, feel free to dig them out and rock them.

What will be released in the near future and which sneaker trends await us in 2020 can be found at us. Stay tuned!
