The Patta Air Max 1 Waves is one of the few collaborations of recent years that has burned itself deep into the collective memory of the sneaker community. Between 2021 and 2022, the "Waves" series was hard to miss and, with its reinterpreted mudguard shape, attracted just the right kind of attention to arouse curiosity and set trends.

Patta managed to give the iconic Air Max 1 a fresh face without diluting its DNA. It was precisely this feat that brought the Amsterdam streetwear brand not only recognition from the scene, but also significantly more visibility in the mainstream.

The new Patta Air Max 1 Waves colorways

After transferring this design language to a four-pack of Air Max 90s last year, Patta is now returning to the silhouette with which it is probably most closely associated. For the start of 2026, a new Air Max 1 Waves Pack is on the cards, which takes the familiar idea a step further while adding new accents. Two colorways have been unveiled so far, presented by Patta founders Guillaume Schmidt and Edson Sabajo themselves. Both versions feature Hyper Crimson as a central detail - a deliberate reference to the Dutch national color and the country's soccer culture.

As usual, the newly designed mudguard takes center stage. The wave-shaped ripples run dynamically across the mudguard and once again create the unmistakable Waves look. One colorway combines a Hyper Crimson mudguard with a black Swoosh on a Pure Platinum upper, while the second version features a colored Swoosh on a more natural White-Pure Platinum mix. Despite the differences, both pairs look like two sides of the same idea and fit harmoniously into the existing Waves history.

A special detail are the gold-colored bracelets that come with each pair. They feature small swooshes and the Suriname flag and pay homage to the shared South American roots of the two Patta founders. This personal level gives the collaboration additional depth and emphasizes that Patta is never just about design, but always about identity and history as well.

Where can I buy the new collaboration?

The possible release date is also exciting. Edson Sabajo hinted in his post that the drop could take place around his birthday - which falls on February 29. Official confirmations are still pending.
