Fragment x Nike Book 2 - first look
The Fragment x Nike Book 2 offers a first look at the latest collaboration between Hiroshi Fujiwara, the Godfather of Streetwear, and Nike.
Building on the momentum of the recently teased Nike Mind 001 collaboration, Fujiwara now shifts his focus to the court and shows how high-end street aesthetics and performance basketball come together. First physical impressions of the collaboration were shared through leaked images via @basket4ballers and already reveal how minimalist and at the same time well thought-out the silhouette is implemented.
This is what the new Fragment x Nike Book 2 looks like
The design thrives on radical minimalism: classic, multi-layered structures give way to a smooth nylon upper that creates a modern, clean finish. Contrasts are created by asymmetric Swooshes - one Swoosh in white, the other in fragmented blue - which subtly emphasize the character of the collab. The tongue features a dual-branded BOOK logo in combination with Fragment's iconic lightning bolt logo, making the identity of the collaboration instantly recognizable.
Technical details flow elegantly into the aesthetic implementation. Fujiwara integrates his utilitarian understanding of design by combining technical "Spec" labeling on the midsole with a sun-inspired blue outsole. This combination of functionality and stylish reduction shows how basketball footwear can be taken to a new level: clean lines, purist design and complex storytelling in subtle form.
When can I buy the new collaboration?
The Fragment x Nike Book 2 with the item number IO9950-900 will be released on February 12. Fans and collectors should make a note of this date so as not to miss out on one of the most exciting basketball lifestyle releases of the year.
