Perfect fit, subtle coloring and a good portion of air under the keel, that's what makes the Hundred Eighty. Its silhouette is unparalleled in the vastness of the sports shoe universe, there may be similar models far away, but I don't know of any that can compare to it, and anyone who has ever worn this model will no longer argue with me about fit and running behavior - the Air 180 runs with you, not you with it.You would think that newer is always better, but no, the 93 couldn't hold a candle to the 180, only in one respect it was visually ahead of it: the visible Air System which could be seen over the entire rear part of the shoe, but honestly, what was this system compared to the incredible "Big Bubble" of the OG 180, which was more reminiscent of hovercraft than running? I still remember exactly how I was out and about with a friend at the weekend, me with my new 93s on my feet, him with his Olympic 180s, my eyes boring into his shoes time and time again, into these oversized air pads. How would it feel to have these plump cushions under my feet? It's not hard to guess what came next: The following Monday, I stood on the mat at "Sport Eule", the best store for sports shoes in Leipzig at the time, and asked for a pair of these babies.Unfortunately, the Olympic was no longer available and the salesman fumbled another colorway out of the box - the Ultramarine! Booom! The sight made me briefly wonder if there were traces of LSD in my blood or if my eyes were just playing tricks on me. But neither was the case. At the latest when I slipped this piece of jewelry over my foot and stood in front of the mirror, I knew: it was the real thing and no one would be able to separate us. No, of course the sales clerk didn't have to wrap the shoes for me, they stayed where they were, on my feet, and on that day and the days that followed, a lot of meters were made so that everyone could really see me and my new love. And even if we have been apart from time to time over the years, true love lasts forever and you stand by it, even if the details have changed over time, so today I wear the Air 180 HOA from 2005 on my feet and remember exactly these three letters: HOA - The History Of Air.
