adidas Originals is back with a new partnership. We all remember the collaboration with Overkill and the Berliner Verkersverbund (BVG). Now it seems as if adidas has just been "warming up", as the new partnership is with Transport for London, or TfL for short. The collaboration with the London transport company was created to mark the 15th anniversary of the well-known Oyster card and, unlike the BVG collaboration, has more than just a sneaker up its sleeve. Inspired by the anniversary, the partnership includes three limited-edition adidas models. The so-called "Oyster Club Pack" is limited to a total of 1500 pairs and the special highlight of this pack is also an accompanying Oyster card worth £80.As already mentioned, the Oyster Club Pack consists of three different silhouettes: Temper Run, Continental 80 and ZX 500RM. The special feature here is that each sneaker tells its own TfL story inspired by vintage underground posters. In addition to a theme-based box, the packaging also includes a premium leather cardholder. "London is a city bubbling with creativity, emanating from a population that is constantly moving forward. TfL and the Underground network make it possible. This partnership allows adidas to celebrate the world's most famous transportation system and London through our designs. True to adidas Originals principles, the collaboration draws inspiration from the past, present and future to celebrate the heritage and unity of London's Creator. United by TFL. Told by adidas Originals." Collaborations like this help to provide vital funds that we invest in modernizing the transport network for the benefit of all our customers." (Graeme Craig, Director of Commercial Development TfL)What's really impressive is that every single silhouette tells a different story. The adidas ZX 500 RM, for example, was inspired by classic advertising posters of old abandoned train stations. The special eye-catcher is the well-known color pattern of the London Underground, which runs through the semi-transparent outsole. The "Hidden London" roundel, which stands for the London Transport Museum's exclusive program of tours and events at disused stations and secret locations throughout London, has been printed on the tongue of the right shoe. The adidas Continental 80 silhouette is reminiscent of the world's first subway line, now known as the Metropolitan Line. The line can be found as a stitching on the outside of the model. The length of the line at the time, "3 ¾", is embossed in gold on the heel strap of the shoe, while metal tips on the laces take up the color scheme of the well-known Metropolitan Line. The third silhouette, the adidas Temper Run, picks up on the theme of "pay as you go" travel, which is now offered by public transport companies around the world. The Oyster Card is a symbol of London culture and is recognized worldwide. The highlight of the adidas Temper Run is the well-known "Mind The Gap" roundel on the left tongue and reflective details on the upper.

The adidas Originals x Transport for London "Oyster Club Pack" has been available since October 27 in the adidas Originals stores in London, Fouberts Place and Hanbury Street, as well as at selected retailers for around €80.00.
