We all know by now that the adidas Gazelle was not explicitly designed for street use. Only the exact origin of its name remains a mystery to this day, but this silhouette undoubtedly marked a milestone. It was the first adidas sneaker to be made from dyed rather than pigmented leather. In the early 80s, the adidas Gazelle Indoor was then introduced and became popular not only in handball and volleyball, but also in various subcultures such as skateboarding, punk and hip-hop. Although it had many fans, the Gazelle Indoor fell somewhat into the background at adidas. But thanks to collaborations such as the one with Gucci and adidas, it was brought back into the spotlight at exactly the right time.
