Nike SB Dunk Low First Avenue - Releases on December 11th

Rarely does a week go by without a leak. This time it's a dunk again. Nike has teamed up again with Minneapolis-based skate shop Familia and bring us the one SB Dunk.

The last time the two brands came together was in 2015. At that time, the Dunk High Blue Ox was created in bright blue and yellow. Inspiration for the new collaboration is the celebrated live music scene in Minneapolis. Rather, a tribute to First Avenue , one of the most well-known bars in the area.

The Dunk comes mainly in black smooth leather. Bricks are punched into the leather on the sides, reminiscent of the bar's facade. The toebox is full of little stars. They also decorated the outer walls of the bar and each bear the names of the artists who have performed there so far. The purple details pay homage to Minneapolis-born superstar Prince. The insole comes in a checkerboard pattern and is adorned with the bar's very first ticket dated April 3, 1970. Great implementation, we think. We are happy that the shoe is coming this year after all.

The Dunk was supposed to be released in 2020, just in time for the First Avenue Bar's 50th anniversary. It was probably postponed due to the pandemic. Here and there we also heard that the collab was stopped with an injunction, but we don't know if that's true.
