In 1990, the history of the Air Max took a fateful turn with the debut of a silhouette that went beyond its original function as a performance running shoe. The younger generation knows this version as the "Air Max 90", but when it was re-released, the design was considered an evolution of the original Air Max from 1987 and named the Air Max III.

This edition celebrates the timeless style by taking the initial moniker and reconstructing the earliest version with an unparalleled dedication to detail. This includes a sleek design with a narrow tapered midsole foam, an encapsulated airbag in the forefoot and reworked rubber traction. The look impresses with an original colorway in Eggplant and is in no way inferior to the first edition in terms of materials with soft, durable synthetic leather and shimmering nylon. Even the shoe box and retro tag are inspired by the original Air Max packaging.

1987 was the birth year of the Air Max range, which featured a visible Air element for the first time. What began as an experiment in cushioning technology quickly developed into a classic on the track - and on the road. Over the years, the design has been revised many times and equipped with new features, but the tradition has always remained.

When can I buy the Nike Air Max III Eggplant?
