The new Nike Air Force 1 Type is part of the N354 family, reminiscent of Steve Prefontaine's fastest mile, and adds a handcrafted aesthetic to a classic look. The Nike AF1-Type combines a prototype aesthetic with classic sneaker design. It has a closure system around the heel that pays tribute to the original Air Force 1 Hghtop. It also features rubber overlays on the toe so you can step into a new dimension of AF1 style.

The legend lives on in the Nike Air Force 1, the modern version of the classic that combines the signature style with brand new details and gimmicks. Originally developed for basketball, this sneaker was named after Air Force One - the plane that carries the President of the United States. In 1982, it was the first basketball shoe with Nike Air. The shoe revolutionized the game and quickly spread around the world, from the gym floor to the asphalt to the core of hip-hop culture. To this day, the Air Force 1 has remained true to its roots with its soft, springy cushioning, while its cult status keeps Nike Air technology in the background.
