AWAKE NY Converse One Star Pro

In a few days we will receive three colorways of the AWAKE NY Converse One Star Pro! Awake NY continually explores, illuminates and promotes the culture and subcultures of New York City through its products. This Converse trio underscores that ethos by drawing on the Big Apple's skate and alternative music scene in the early '90s. At this time, Converse released the 1974 All Star as the One Star, which quickly became a popular silhouette on the scene.

"The One Star is always associated with the punk and alternative artists of the early 90s that I really admired, be it Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins or the Beastie Boys - music that you wouldn't normally assume heard by people [from Richmond Hill, Queens]," says Angelo Baque (founder of AWAKE NY), noting that the inclusion of musicians in the campaign was an important link to the collection's inspiration. “Back then, if you wore a pair of One Stars, you didn’t conform to social norms.”

Available in a variety of suede colors, the three shoes combine an embroidered classic Awake NY logo with timeless One Star details and functional, skate-ready features. We receive a baby blue, a black and a white One Star Pro.

When & where can I buy the Converse One Star Pro City Edition?

The Converse One Star Pro in collaboration with AWAKE NY will be available in a few days. More precisely, all three versions of the sneaker will drop on October 12, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Converse online shop. But Converse is not the only shop where the sneakers are listed.
