With the New Balance 550 Grey Day, a really strong colorway will be released, which relies on the used look that we have only seen at Nike so far. In this article you will find all relevant information about the new NB 550.
As many of you probably know by now, the New Balance 550 originally came out as a basketball sneaker and was only further developed as a lifestyle shoe by the fashion brand Aimé Leon Dore by Teddy Santis. The shoe created a real hype and the reseller prices went up at the time. Due to the many drops of the NB 550, it is much easier to get a colorway and the sneaker is one of the most seen models on the streets. The latest model, which comes as part of the Grey Day Pack, relies on a used/distressed look that Nike has used in the past and has received a lot of positive feedback.
Rather than limit themselves to yellowed midsoles and cracked leather, the pair opts for scuffs throughout the upper and sole. With subtle oxidation that shows not only on the white leather, but also on the blue areas along the “N” logo. The suede trimmings and the toe box also show slight signs of wear, which gives the entire colorway the impression of a worn shoe.
