My passion for collecting sneakers only began a few years ago. Before that, sneakers were simple everyday items for me that I simply wore for every occasion and every occasion. Of course, they looked the part accordingly. Especially the numerous club visits at the weekends usually did a lot of damage to my sneakers. Nowadays, I don't go out that often anymore, and when I do, it's with an old pair that I've already worn. It doesn't hurt my heart so much the next morning. :)My fondness for old sneakers and sneakers is still relatively new. I bought my first model, the Gel Saga OG "Blue Steel", from a private individual in Hamburg almost three years ago. Since then, I've developed a real passion, which has led to me now owning a small but quite respectable collection of vintage sneakers, the majority of my vintage collection consisting of ASICS models from the 90s. I own two Gel Lyte V, various Gel Saga, a Gel Exult and much more. At some point, however, I got tired of concentrating only on the brand with the tiger stripes, so I started looking around for other brands and the old Nike models are certainly among the most expensive vintage sneakers, so I'm not really well positioned with the brand. I recently bought the Air Max 1 Jewel on eBay, but apart from that, my "Nike-technical" stock is rather poor.My new favorite in this area is the adidas Spirit of the Games from 1984. I've wanted this exact sneaker for a long time and have never found one. The adidas Spirit of the Games is really not a shoe that you can find on every corner. What's more, the US 11.5 was probably produced in smaller quantities. All factors that made my search for the adidas Spirit of the Games much more difficult, so you can imagine that I was pretty happy when I found the sneaker a few weeks ago on eBay. The condition of my adidas Spirit of the Games was impeccable and it even came with the box. I still find it really exciting to look for long-forgotten sneaker treasures. If you knew what I sometimes pay for my vintage sneakers....joa, you'd look pretty silly! :) #nicepriceUnfortunately, there are hardly any old, private sports stores left these days. You used to have a really good chance of finding something there. Nowadays, this has become really rare, so I don't really have much choice but to look on eBay. Of course, there are still some good alternatives. However, the majority of my vintage sneakers come from eBay...mostly even from the States.By the way, I have currently created a small eBay collection to show some current sneaker trends: eBay collection by deadstockkr. Unfortunately, there aren't many vintage sneakers at the moment, but if you invest a little time yourself, I'm sure you'll find one or two pieces of gold. Vintage sneakers are often a kind of "unique selling point", and that's exactly what we sneakerheads want: a shoe that nobody else has! Isn't that right? :)
