Le Coq Sportif R1000 - latest pickup

The Le Coq Sportif R1000 was released on July 5th and was part of the 2-piece "Day & Night" pack. First released in 1990, the R1000 silhouette has made a brilliant comeback in recent months and is slowly but surely becoming my favorite silhouette from the French sporting goods manufacturer.I personally like both CW's of the "Night & Day" pack very much, with the light version finally finding its way into my home.the shape of the R1000 is particularly striking. It's really first class and made my heart beat faster as soon as I saw the first pictures. I also really like the pink accents (pink regulated!!!) on the eyelets, the sole and the lining, as the color forms a nice contrast to the grey and beige overlays. Somehow this gives the shoe a certain zing! What I personally don't like 100% is the mesh used in the toebox area. I find the material too thick and suspect that deep creases could form there after prolonged wear. But as I said, that's just a guess and I don't necessarily have to be right. I'll keep an eye on it and give you feedback if I'm right in my assumption, but there are no particular anomalies in terms of size. I wear a US12 (29.5cm) in the R1000, which still offers me enough room in the forefoot area. I think the R1000 is a relatively wide shoe, so a US 11.5 would probably have suited me as well, but I'm curious to see if Le Coq Sportiv will be releasing any more retros in the near future. After all, this company has a lot of history and I would love to see more like the R1000! If any of you are interested in the shoe, I'd suggest you take a look at the Upper Club.
