adidas Ultra Boost - a grenade on the foot

Whoever advertises with the slogan "The best running shoe of all time" must be pretty sure of what they are doing. I think it's a bold statement, but I suspect that the adidas developers already know exactly what position they have taken with the new Ultra Boost in the highly competitive running market, and I personally don't really want to know whether it's true or not. I don't want to make any comparisons because, to be honest, I can't do it either. I simply don't have enough running experience for that, and I'm planning to use the Ultra Boost as an everyday shoe anyway. It's far too good to go running in, don't you think? :)When I saw the Ultra Boost in Herzogenaurach last December, I was immediately in love. I'm actually a big fan of the technology and have been celebrating the multitude of different Boost models for a long time, but with the Ultra Boost, adidas has now really reached a new level: Torsion, Primeknit, Boost and a special outsole construction called Stretch-Web! The people at adidas really didn't let themselves get carried away and created a real "running shoe machine" with the Ultra Boost. Although I'm used to being out and about in various Boost models, the Ultra Boost was somehow different. Yes, somehow even better. The cushioning of the sole is even more pronounced and the support provided by the Primeknit upper is much firmer than, for example, the Pure Boost models, which are really only designed for everyday use. Oh well, that's another issue in my head: I know so many people who go to the gym in the Pure Boost. Are they that ignorant and just want to look good, or have they simply been given the wrong advice? I'm always on the verge of telling them off, but fortunately I can usually restrain myself :D There's not really much to consider when it comes to sizing. Like in almost all adidas shoes, I wear a US 11.5 (like in the Flux, Integral, Stan Smith) and still have enough room in the front. The Ultra Boost also behaves very differently to the Energy Boost, for example, which is a bit narrow at the front. I wore the US11 ( my size in the Tubular ) back then in Herzogenaurach. In terms of length, this size would have fitted me too, but the monosock upper was unfortunately far too tight and pinched. I think many will agree with me when I say that the Ultra Boost is a prime example of a sleek sports shoe silhouette. For my part, all I need now is a few funky colorways and I'll have found my new favorite shoe. :) If you fancy grabbing a pair of the Ultra Boost: Asphaltgold and adidas still have them in almost all sizes in their online stores. Just give the Ultra Boost a try, you'll love the comfort it offers. By the way, I've already infected my closest friends... they all want one, but they've already seen the shoes live! ;-)So, take a look at the Ultra Boost. Walk around a bit. Trust me, you're sure to be satisfied. :)Here are some more "on-feet" pictures of the Ultra Boost!
