On the road with the new adidas Tubular Rise and the Tubular Doom Sock

For the new season, adidas is presenting some new sneakers and apparel from the Tubular family. My colleague Mario ( aka @sixnine on Instagram ) and I took the release as an opportunity to explore a new parking garage near the Cologne exhibition center. What did we take there? The new Tubular Rise, the black Tubular Sock and the Tubular Nova Tracksuit.

ADIDAS TUBULAR RISE

adidas describes the Tubular Rise as the "boldest model" in the Tubular family to date. Personally, however, I can only agree with this to a limited extent, as I find the Tubular Doom to be significantly "wilder" and more progressive.

The adidas Tubular Rise only appeared in an all-beige colorway for its first drop. Certain core elements of the Tubular series have been replaced by a new design language, creating a new silhouette. The eye-catching lacing system and the upper are particularly striking, and I particularly like them. Compared to the previous models, the foot has a much firmer hold with this reinforcement and is therefore much more comfortable to wear.

Almost the entire upper is made of Primeknit, which is only accentuated by a few small colorful threads. As a result, the otherwise somewhat chunky shoe loses a lot of weight.

The new sole construction of the adidas Tubular Rise is particularly cool, and I think it's really important to emphasize this. The material is now significantly softer and the indentation in the middle of the sole is nowhere near as deep as on the first Tubular models. This makes the adidas Tubular Rise much more comfortable and, in my opinion, even really cozy.

ADIDAS TUBULAR DOOM SOCK

The Tubular Doom has been on the market for quite some time and has now been reinterpreted in three versions. We chose the Tubular Doom Sock for our shoot because the colorway with the black sole was a perfect match for the Tubular Nova tracksuit. In contrast to the Tubular Rise, we recommend going down half a size for the Tubular Doom Sock. The Tubular Doom with the high sock liner, which we have already described in detail in a previous review, is similar to the Tubular Doom. So nothing has changed.

ADIDAS TAPED ANORAK WINDBREAKER & TAPED WIND PANT

Of course, I didn't miss the opportunity to dig out the matching suit for the colorway of the Tubular Doom sock from my wardrobe for our little exploration tour. Both pieces, Taped Anorak Windbreaker & Taped Wind Pant, come from the adidas archives and were originally worn to warm up before sports. In the meantime, however, the complete suit is absolutely street-ready and therefore fits perfectly in my wardrobe.
