adidas Originals and Pharrell Williams present the Tennis HU collection

Pharrell Williams and adidas are launching another collaborative sneaker with the Tennis HU.The adidas Originals x Pharrell Williams Tennis HU will be released in two different colorways, both of which are reminiscent of the most iconic tennis shoes from the adidas archive. The green version pays homage to the Stan Smith and, in my opinion, needs no further explanation. However, the yellow version is based on the silhouette of the Forest Hills, which many of today's sneakerheads are probably no longer familiar with.

"I play for the human race"

The Forest Hills was a rather striking tennis shoe with golden accents and a yellow midsole, which I personally would NEVER have worn on the tennis court (yes, I played tennis actively for four years in my past). The yellow version of the Tennis HU features these same colorful elements on the heel and laces, giving the Tennis HU an OG feel.

While the new collection forgoes the Boost sole, adidas has used white Primeknit for the upper of the Tennis HU. An absolutely right choice, because summer hopefully won't be soooo long in coming. A breathable upper material is a good thing. The new model is rounded off by an integrated lacing system and a suede tongue.

The Tennis HU collection will be available from 6 May.
