Ben Affleck (plays Nike founder Phil Knight) and Matt Damon (Sonny Vaccaro) not only star in the Air Jordan film, they also serve as screenwriters and director (Ben Affleck) on the film. Affleck said: "It was the best creative and personal experience of our lives." Of course it's super exciting for us, because on the one hand we'd like to get more insights into the Air Jordan deal and on the other hand we already know a bit and of course we like to watch how a film team prepares the story.

As soon as there is a trailer, there is also criticism. Our dear friend Sneakerb0b reposted a story from yothatsfire which was quite interesting. First of all, the film shows some Cortez models in glass cases and one has an eBay authenticity check tag attached to it. We all know that in the 80s there was nothing like an eBay authenticity tag. It remains to be seen whether eBay placed the tag there à la sponsoring, or whether someone from the film team overlooked the tag. yothatsfire also criticizes the shoe silhouettes and jackets that you see in the film, because the models probably didn't look like that at the time. As mentioned above, the Air Jordan Movie is about the legendary deal between Nike and NBA GOAT Michael Jordan in the 1980s. The cooperation was bagged in 1984 by Sonny Vaccaro. The deal is said to have almost collapsed because Jordan, who was a rookie at the time, had doubts about the collaboration. As the trailer shows, the film follows Sonny Vaccaro as he desperately tries to expand Nike's basketball division. Because it was absolute junk back then. A quote from the film reads: "There's nothing cool about Nike !" . Well, little spoiler: Nike, or rather Sonny Vaccaro, made it. We are looking forward to the film. However, we find it a bit strange that Michael Jordan isn't cast and we'll only get to see his parents. We don't know what the reasons for Michael Jordan's absence are, yet.
