Along with the announcement that Awake and ASICS have teamed up to release three colorways on the Gel NYC Silhouette, it was also announced that new inline colorways will be coming to the shoe in Summer 2023. The Awake x ASICS collaboration was a great success, and the three new inline colorways that will be released in the next few days are set to build on this. The model is inspired by various influences from the traditional and modern performance running style. The upper is based on the GEL-NIMBUS 3 of the early 2000s, with design details of the MC-PLUS V. But not only that, the midsole also comes from the archive. It was inspired by the GEL-Cumulus 16.

In terms of design, the new ASICS Gel NYC is made up of beige and brown elements that are distributed over the entire shoe. Mesh construction in beige, overlays in brown are combined with gray elements, which are also attached to the whole shoe. The design is completed with a sole unit that relies on gray and beige.
