This new Air Force 1 pays homage to the 1991 Air Command Force. Just like its counterpart, the Summit White Black colourway, the Air Force 1 Command picks up elements of the 1991 silhouette. The University Blue even goes as far as picking up color blocking.

Co-designed by David Robinson in the early '90s, the shoe featured the brand's inflatable Air-Fit technology, which has provided a more secure fit for basketball players and lifestyle consumers with each release of the model. In comparison, the re-emerged version of Kilgore's creation features a mix of patriotic tones on its traditional construction, with revised Force and Nike branding on the tongue, sockliner and upper heel overlay. The sole units underfoot have a yellowed layout reminiscent of the past of both models.
