Nike Air Force 1 Barb Wire Swoosh - first look
The Air Force 1 is the ultimate icon. Even outside of the sneaker bubble. That's why we're not surprised if Nike changes the design from time to time. In doing so we get new designs like the Nike Air Force 1 Barb Wire Swoosh. In this article we will take a closer look at the design
We're starting the article with a little story today. For those who may not know: The mother of the Air Force 1 Low, the high version, hit the shelves 40 years ago as a basketball shoe. One year later the low version was released. At that time, the sneaker was mainly worn by dealers on the American east coast. Even if Nike doesn't want to admit it, the boys and girls have had a significant influence on the shoe.
In 1984, Nike initially removed the shoe from the range and made room for new developments. Of course, all fans of the AF1 were massively disappointed and so Nike produced the shoe again in 1986. By the way, this was the first time in Nike's history to bring a shoe back to the shelves as a retro. The most important development in Air Force 1 history, however, came later in the '90s with the introduction of the white-on-white Air Force 1 Low. And around 40 years later, we still wear the icon. Only today with a more extravagant style.
The new design is good. Of course, the upper comes in white leather, as usual. Almost, because the heel stands out in bright orange. And the details like the Swoosh, the logo on the orange heel and the tongue are black. The highlight is obviously the Swoosh. As the name "Barb Wire" suggests, the Swoosh has small edges all over it. We like. We love it when Nike doesn't put too much into new designs. Small changes like here are quite enough.
Unfortunately, we don't yet know when the Nike Air Force 1 Barb Wire Swoosh will release. But it should probably come in the next few weeks. We will give you all further information as soon as possible in the release calendar, in the blog and in our free app. If you have any questions, you can easily reach us via the message function of all social media channels.
