It's no longer a secret that you currently need a classic adidas silhouette in your shoe closet. For a long time they were not really relevant in the sneaker scene and almost out of nowhere everyone wanted an adidas Samba , Handball Spezial , Forum or a Gazelle again. You know that we celebrate these developments and hope that this phenomenon will stay with us for a longer time. Our favorite model is currently the Gazelle Indoor. The comeback of the Gazelle Indoor has been prepared by the collaboration between Gucci and adidas. Gucci has managed to put the Gazelle in a new, fresh light. @christopher got himself a new adidas gazelle indoor and we think the colourway is THE Gucci alternative. All information about the shoe and some on-feet pictures can be found here in the article.
THE HISTORY OF THE ADIDAS GAZELLE
Similar to most adidas classics, the Gazelle was not developed for the street. The model was first launched in 1966. The exact origin of the name is unknown and actually a mystery to this day, but this silhouette undoubtedly set a milestone. Because: For the first time, the Gazelle was made of dyed leather instead of pigmented leather. When they were introduced, there were only two colors – red with an athletic sole and blue with a herringbone sole for indoor use. The red Gazelle became the training shoe for the West German national soccer team. The silhouette was updated again and again and in 1972 the Gazelle underwent further development with a slimmer silhouette. In the years to come, she no longer only conquered the sports world, but also the feet of icons and superstars. The model became a cult object at breakneck speed.
At the beginning of the 80s came the adidas Gazelle Indoor, which was also very popular in handball, volleyball and especially in subcultures. From skaters to punks to hip-hop fans. At the beginning of the 90s, the “classic” Gazelle, as we know it to this day, made its appearance. While it continued to find countless followers, the Gazelle Indoor faded somewhat into the background. But Gucci and adidas revived them at just the right time
THE SILHOUETTE TODAY
Since the release of the Gucci x adidas Gazelle Indoor, there have always been new inline colourways from adidas. And we're honest, we love the fancy Gucci colourways, but the new Gazelle indoor releases are also really good to look at and nobody has to spend 650 euros for a good Gazelle. Therefore: check out adidas.de and your favorite shops from time to time. The silhouette doesn't come online with much fanfare, so it's possible to miss one or the other upcoming release . The new colourways are always trending on TikTok as an alternative to the Gucci colors, which is why the colors are always gone quickly. And in our opinion, the new Gazelle Indoor Blue Dawn is the best alternative colourway to the Gucci collab so far. Check out @christopher ‘s outfit. The colourway is great.
HOW CHRISTOPHER STYLES THE GAZELLE INDOOR
The adidas Gazelle Indoor Blue Dawn comes with a suede upper in light blue and stays true to the original with the characteristic rubber outsole. The laces, the inlay and the tongue come in off-white. Especially the three stripes in dark green and dark red make the Gucci look perfect. @christopher wears a gray Stussy sweater and Fucking Awesome Jeans Short . By the way, the Gazelle is “True To Size”. Check out the pictures below. If you're interested in the Gazelle Indoor now, there's good news. The silhouette is currently still online at adidas!
