The eBay authenticity check should be known to everyone by now. But for those who may not have heard, eBay's authenticity check was launched on September 1st, 2021. All sneakers with a sales price of more than 100 euros – whether new or used – are checked for authenticity by a professional Sneaker Con team and then conveniently sent to the buyer. For some sellers in Frankfurt, the eBay team held a seller workshop on May 20th, which we were also allowed to attend. Of course we took notes diligently and would like to tell you what was going on there.
OCCHIO D'ORO — THE LOCATION
We were very lucky with the weather on May 20th and the location was perfect. eBay is no slouch when it comes to choosing their locations. We stayed at the Occhio d'Oro at Flemmings Hotel, right downtown. The view of the skyline is of course awesome. There you can see everything on the terrace. So the location was a 10 out of 10.
WHAT IS THE SELLER WORKSHOP?
It is very important for eBay to get in touch with sellers. They want to answer their questions, receive criticism and praise, and cater to their wishes. Ultimately, it's about making a connection. And an event is perfect for that. The seller workshop in Frankfurt started at 5:30 p.m. with really good drinks. We met a lot of familiar faces. After some pleasant conversations with friends and the eBay team, we officially got started.
Carlo Bellmann, Category Manager Sneaker at eBay, welcomed us and told interesting facts about eBay. Did you know that a sneaker is sold on eBay every 18 seconds!? That's pretty impressive. Malaika Ewald, Senior Marketing Manager Sneakers, reported on various campaigns in which we recognized ourselves here and there. Finally, Adis, a professional seller on eBay, also had his say. An interesting exchange ensued about how he does it and why he likes to sell on eBay. After the official part there were really good drinks. With them we went to the “unofficial” part and we heard one or the other funny reseller story. Oh yes, before we forget: There was also a goodie bag with a really cool eBay sneaker hoodie.
OUR CONCLUSION OF THE SELLER WORKSHOP IN FRANKFURT
The Seller Workshop was absolutely nice. It's just fun to meet old and new friends at events. eBay surprised us positively again. At the event, it was important for the team to establish a connection with the sellers and to respond to their wishes. That's not always a given, especially with such a large platform. That's why we give you the tip: Sell your sneakers on eBay! You are in good hands there. We look forward to the next seller workshop.

You are in good hands on eBay when it comes to selling sneakers. Take advantage of the low sales commission, free authenticity check and NFC tag to sell your sneakers quickly and easily.
eBay has already held seller workshops in Cologne, Hamburg, Munich and Frankfurt. Munich took place on May 21st in the Hypeneedz Store, which is said to have been really good! Maybe your city will have one soon. Of course we also have photos at the start of the seller workshop in Frankfurt.
