Corteiz Nike

*EDIT 7. MÄRZ 2023*: Shortly after Corteiz already distributed a few Air Max 95s on the streets of London last weekend, a new official promotional video with Nike has now also been posted on IG Not only featuring Jorja Smith as a call center agent, but also two other black colourways of the Corteiz Nike Air Max 95. Check out the picture and video . As soon as we have more official release details, you will find them here or in the release calendar.

The London streetwear brand “Corteiz” is currently making waves. And a week ago, the first collaboration with Nike was announced. Which surprised us, because in 2021 Nike sued the brand because of the similarity to the name “Cortez”. That seems to have subsided now and Nike can no longer pretend that Corteiz is a small brand that shouldn't be considered. Now a Corteiz Nike Air Max 95 is coming soon. All information about the brand and the sneaker can be found here in the article.

We are sure that some of you do not (really) know Corteiz yet. Therefore, there is now some background information. Corteiz, or Crtz, was founded in London in 2017. The founder, Clint , doesn't reveal much about himself and doesn't necessarily speak to the press. The pieces by Corteiz are not too expensive. The t-shirts cost around £30, sweatpants around £120 and cargos around £125. We hope that the Corteiz Nike Air Max 95 are not that expensive either. All pieces come with an Alcatraz logo, which stands for the rebellion against conventions and is considered the message of the brand.

All parts come in fairly limited editions launching through the private website. For this you need a password that only selected people receive. We signed up – let's see what happens. Sometimes, however, Corteiz also distributes his designs on the street via guerrilla campaigns. For example, he posted a location in January last year and said that anyone with old original brand puffer jackets should come and trade them in for a Corteiz. Clint then donated the exchanged jackets to a London homeless shelter. Clint doesn't think much of resell platforms, but he can't prevent it. In January 2022, Corteiz was one of the most searched brands in on Depop. Virgil Abloh was also a fan of Corteiz. He wore Clint's socks to the 2021 Met Gala. In addition to Virgil, there are of course enough other supporters. Including Skepta, Slowthai and Jorja Smith.

The hype is real. The pieces are high quality but not gentrified like most streetwear brands. The black-owned label is fierce and represents London culture. We look forward to what else is to come from the brand. But now let's take a look at the Nike Air Max 95.

The Corteiz Nike Air Max 95 comes with an olive colored upper. The details and logos come in neon yellow and the inlay in camo. Unfortunately, the inspiration behind the design is still unknown to us. The black Max Air-cushioned sole is black and the bubbles are yellow. Corteiz branding is embroidered on the ankle and toebox, while the label's Alcatraz logo is on the tongue. The sneakers come in an Air Max OG box. Good shoe. It will definitely be sold out very quickly. That's for sure.

Unfortunately, we can't say exactly when the Corteiz Nike collab on the Air Max 95 will come. But when the time comes, you will find out everything from us. Because as soon as we have final information about the release, you will get the information here in the blog, our release calendar or in the free app . We don't currently know whether the Air Max 95 will appear in the SNKRS app. We rather assume that Corteiz's Clint will come up with a slightly more exclusive release. Things remain exciting.
