Nike Dunk High Somos Familia - coming in October

On the occasion of Día de los Muertos, Nike releases a new Nike Dunk High Somos Familia. Unlike Halloween, the Mexican holiday is not tied to a single day, but encompasses a multi-day celebration that extends from October 31st to November 2nd. The news about the new colorway comes just in time for the preparation time for the Mexican tradition, which starts in mid-October. The custom of honoring the dead and the associated traditions - such as the famous face painting - should be familiar to most of us by now. If not, it's worth reading a little here, because it's not without reason that the tradition was named a "masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of mankind" by UNESCO in 2003.

THIS IS WHAT THE NEW DUNK HIGH SOMOS FAMILIA LOOKS LIKE

After other Nike models have already received a Somos-Familia makeover, the Dunk High silhouette is now being slaughtered. The upper is dipped in bright colors to match the festive occasion. But this one holds another surprise, because it is divided into two halves. A look from the right or left side shows a completely different sneaker without revealing the different design. Looking at the dunk from the left side, you can see a brown mesh base with orange and green embroidery. From the other perspective you see a simpler black mesh base, which is decorated with monochromatic embroidery. The smooth leather overlays are kept in a set orange. The laces are also chosen in an orange/yellow color and, together with the white midsole, brighten up the exciting design. The Somos Familia logo on the heel is designed in a striking bright orange, as is the Swoosh.
