Aime Leon Dore (ALD) gifted us with the New Balance 550 and now the 650 as well. The brand has managed to dig up a model from the archive and make it the new beater of all generations of sneaker bubbles worldwide. We are always surprised how well it worked. Now the New Balance 650 comes with some new colourways without ALD. All information about the sneakers can be found here in the article.
Teddy Santis — founder of ALD and creative director at New Balance “Made in USA” — is the creator of the trend. Since he now really connects the two brands professionally, we are even less surprised that we can also find his Aime collabs as general releases at New Balance. Let's take a look at the colourways.
THIS IS WHAT THE SNEAKERS LOOK LIKE
There are currently five general release colourways of the 650 in the pipeline: white, grey, red, blue and green. All with the same base: white leather upper. This is currently the biggest difference to the Aime Leon Dore colourways, which come in a more vintage look with a beige upper. The accents are set in the respective color. Our favorites are clearly the gray and white, although we think the green one is pretty good too. We're celebrating the minimalist designs on the 550 and 650 the most, because they're the reason why everyone wants a silhouette like this right now. How exactly the demand for the 650s will look like is anyone's guess. We expect a more moderate one, you have to like high-top shoes and the sneakers are relatively tight. They're pretty, though.
NEW BALANCE 650 RELEASE DATE
We don't know when exactly the many new New Balance 650 colourways will come. We're assuming an early release, or they should all come relatively quickly one after the other. As soon as we have official information, you will of course find it in our release calendar . Or you download our free app and favor the release. It's pretty easy and you'll always have all the information with just two clicks. By the way, we also wrote about the two new ALD x NB 650 colourways here. Good luck with the 650 releases!
