Even if the mid variant is not exactly the most popular version of Michael Jordan sneakers, Nike has already surprised us with a few designs this year. Now the Jordan 1 Craft Obsidian should not only adorn the popular low version, but also the mid version. Nike's Craft collection is known for its unique combination of functionality, innovation and aesthetics. The Obsidian colorway has a special background, as the colourway was first released in February 1997 and adorned the Air Jordan 12. Even though this is an OG, the Obsidian is the only Jordan that the basketball player with jersey number 23 does not wear wore to an NBA game.
LOOK OF THE NIKE OBSIDIAN
The two versions of the Jordan 1 Craft Obsidian apparently only differ in their ankle height. Both variants are characterized by a textile mix of suede, mesh and patent leather. The collar, the toe box and the tongue are kept in the color tone obsidian. The suede overlays match this color scheme and are bathed in a similar dark blue. The gray mesh inserts in the heel area harmonize perfectly with the rich blue of the rest of the upper. The highlight of the new Jordan are the details in patent leather, which give the toe box special attention. The low variant also has a blue patent leather Swoosh that creates the transition to the rest of the design. In the mid version, a gray patent leather insert along the laces creates a harmonious look. Both sneakers have a light midsole that ends on a gray rubber sole.
