The Nike Air Max 1 is the brand's first sneaker to incorporate groundbreaking air cushion technology. As many of us may already know, the brilliant idea came from none other than Tinker Hatfield. He was originally hired as an architect by the American company in 1981 before designing his first shoes on request in 1985. It is precisely this architectural know-how that he incorporated into his sneaker designs and thus brought out the first Air Pack. In addition to the Nike Air Max 1, the pack also included the Air Trainer 1, Air Revolution, Air Stock and Air Safari. Now we can look forward to a brand new colourway – the Nike Air Max 1 Ironstone.
THIS IS WHAT THE NEW AIR MAX 1 LOOKS LIKE
The new Nike Air Max 1 Ironstone is significantly lighter than its predecessor on the Air Max 95 silhouette. The upper is kept in very natural nuances and consists of the colors Ironestone, Sail, Rattan and White. The suede overlays sit on an airy mesh base. Due to the change of material, the slight color contrast stands out even more clearly. The brownish embroidered Swoosh on the mid panel and the toe box, together with the Nike Air Max logo on the heel, rounds off the very simple sneaker. The midsole and rubber sole also adhere to the color code and complete the clean look. Only the neon green details on the tongue and on the insole of the new Air Max are small outliers and clearly stand out from the rest of the design.
