The sports all-rounder returns! After the release of the Nike Air Trainer 1 in the trendy colorway Enamel Green was released, there is already news about a new colorway. Created in 1987 by Tinker Hatfield, the silhouette celebrates its 35th anniversary this year and continues to be a sight to behold. Now the Nike Air Trainer 1 Shima Shima is set to make a comeback. The Japanese-inspired sneaker was first released in 2003. Because the sneaker was only available in Canada and Asia, it was one of the most sought-after models in the sneaker scene. It appeared in a pack along with the Air Max 1 and Dunk High in the Shima Shima look. It remains to be seen whether we will soon be able to look forward to a new edition of these models.
LOOK OF THE SHIMA SHIMA
The new edition of the Nike Air Trainer 1 Shima Shima looks confusingly similar to its predecessor. Like the OG, this model is also in the colors light brown, brown and red. The Trainer 1 is also fully dressed in suede and the lining features the iconic pinstripes. The insole and train decorate a red Japanese lettering with the meaning “Shima Shima”. A small deviation seems to be the embroidered Nike Air lettering on the tongue of the new edition. This model is also rounded off with a speckled midsole.
