Air Force 1 World Champ - new colourway

This year Nike celebrates the 40th birthday of our favorite sneaker icon - the Air Force 1 . That's why there are of course one or two swanky releases. Totally deserved. We recently told you about the Air Force 1 Championship Belt. Now we have first pictures of the Air Force 1 World Champ in black. All information about the shoe can be found here.

Did you know that although the AF1 was released 40 years ago, it only really became iconic after its re-release in the 90s when the white-on-white model came along? Now you know. Various collaborations have already been leaked and discussed for the 40th birthday, for example with Drake and Stüssy. So far, however, official information is still missing and we'll start with the confirmed colourways from Nike .

THE AIR FORCE 1 WORLD CHAMP REMEMBRACES THE LA LAKERS

The “World Champ” colourway is so named because the AF1 comes with a bold gold and black lace tag. That reminds us and everyone else of a championship belt. Is that an allusion to the 40th birthday of the sneaker icon? The Air Force 1 is sure to win almost every sneaker duel. The upper comes with a material mix of leather, nubuck and patent leather in black. The swoosh and heel are black patent. The midsole is white and the outsole is black. The Nike brandings are gold. The inlay is purple, so of course we're thinking of the LA Lakers. Overall a cool but very chubby design.

RELEASE DATE FROM WORLD CHAMP

Unfortunately, we don't yet know exactly when the Air Force 1 World Champ will be coming. All we know is that the AF1 also comes in GS sizing.
