As we've mentioned many times before, the Dunk offers a perfect canvas for diverse designs. Whether college colors or super funky designs. The silhouette can endure a lot. That's why Nike doesn't shy away from using the Nike Dunk for niche designs from time to time. This is also the case with the Nike Dunk Low Setsubun. All information about the shoe can be found here.
The inspiration for the latest dunk is the annual Setsubun festival in Japan. Setsubun, also known as the “Bean Throwing Festival”, is celebrated in Japan on the day before spring. During the festival, participants throw handfuls of dry soybeans to ward off demons and evil spirits and promote good luck. Sounds great. In fact, the festival took place on February 3 this year.
The colourway comes in a light brown tone with khaki and dark brown overlays, partly in “cracked” leather. The Swoosh, the inlay and small details come in rich purple. Details include a demon embroidered on the back of the heel. The sole is white-brown. The colorway is rounded off by the insole, with a work of art from the late Edo period (1840s) by Utagawa Kuniyoshi. Very nice colourway.
The Nike Dunk Low Setsubun is scheduled to be released later this year. However, that the shoe is to release exclusively in Japan. We don't have much hope that this will change. But it's not that bad, because if you want the Nike Dunk , you'll sooner or later find it on StockX . Check latest Nike Dunks here.
