Supreme is famous for fancy collaborations. Recently, for example, the new collaboration with Timberland has been announced. However, we have much better news: Supreme x Junya Watanabe. They're doing something together now and we're over the moon. All information about the release on November 4th can be found here in the article.
Somehow we didn't have a collaboration between Supreme and Junya Watanabe on the screen at the moment. That's why we're all the happier. For those who don't know exactly who Junya is, here's a brief digression:
The Japanese designer took his first steps as a pattern designer at Rei Kawakubo and Comme des Garçons . He has been releasing his own collections under the CDG umbrella since 1992. Watanabe is most celebrated for his innovative approach to construction and form using unexpected materials. He often experiments with unusual synthetic and industrial textiles to create new shapes and looks. We love his designs, we can't pay for them as much.
Back to the collection. This is largely inspired by Watanabe's own archive. Since he has been designing for CDG Man for over 25 years now, the choice is certainly huge. And so is the new collection. However, Supreme has kindly listed all the pieces for us, which we will simply list for you for the sake of simplicity:
Schott leather coat, Gore-Tex denim parka and pants. Patchwork puffy jacket (we love it) and cargo pants, as well as a work jacket and pants. And of course there's a backpack. But the collection also has a few basics in its luggage: a sweater, a long sleeve, two T-shirts. Two hoodies, one sweatpant. And what would Supreme be without a 5-panel cap, a beanie and a keychain. We have attached our five favorites from the collection for you. Check out the lookbook at www.supremenewyork.com for all other pictures.
The Supreme x Junya Watanabe collection drops at www.supremenewyork.com tomorrow, November 4th. You can try your luck at 11am EDT and November 6th at 11am JST in Japan. We keep our fingers crossed for you, even if it won't do much.
