Some of you may remember our post on the Nike Dunk Low Siempre Familia . Now another model joins them, the Air Jordan 1 Mid Siempre Familia. The two silhouettes celebrate the “Día de los Muertos”. We took a closer look at the first pictures.
On November 2nd, Mexicans commemorate their dead. It's actually a lot happier, louder and more colorful than here on Corpus Christi. That's why the “Dia de los Muertos” deserves a tribute. Nike is therefore commemorating what is probably the nation's biggest holiday again this year and is already serving us the second silhouette.
The upper of the Air Jordan 1 Mid is made of matt black suede with overlays of the same color and animal embossing. The toebox comes in bright red and because that's not enough, it is surrounded by small, razor-sharp teeth. Instead of a classic Swoosh, there's an embroidered rainbow arrow design Swoosh. It is said to honor the religious deities of the native Aztec culture. We think the design is a bit over the top. Maybe the teeth are to blame. But the idea behind the shoe is great. Nevertheless, we will rather opt for the Nike Dunk Low Siempre Familia .
There is no official release date yet, but we are assuming November 2nd. Anything else would confuse us. We don't have a final shop list yet, so it's best to keep an eye on our release calendar for a while if you're interested in the Air Jordan 1 Mid Siempre Familia.
