In 2016, the International Olympic Committee announced that skateboarding would be an official Olympic sport at the Tokyo Olympics. Reason enough for us to introduce you to the new Nike SB collabs, which will be launched at the same time as the competition opens.
Among the various sneakers are two “Gundam” Bandai x Nike SB Dunk Highs as well as three separate SB Dunk Lows created in collaboration with FTC , Parra and and retailer Quartersnacks. This isn't the first time we've seen these collaborations, as the first leaks of the models appeared on the web a few months ago.
In addition to the sneakers, Nike SB hired Dutch artist and Piet Parra to design federation jerseys for the USA, Japan, France and Brazil skate teams. The design of each jersey is inspired by the most popular sport in each country. The Brazilian jersey from soccer, the French jersey from tennis, the Japanese jersey from baseball and the American jersey from USA basketball jersey. An embroidered bird on the side of each jersey further represents the spirit of each country.
The release dates for these upcoming Nike SB Dunk collabs have not yet been announced. However, you can rest assured that each pair will soon be available via the SNKRS app and at select Nike SB retailers .
