Nike pulls out all the stops when it comes to the dunk and introduces a refreshingly new concept for the retro silhouette with the Nike Dunk Flip The Old School, instead of “just” dealing with old college colourways.
This will certainly bother some, and I mean especially the older semesters among us – although Nike SB has always stood for experimental designs and colourways and will probably continue to do so in the future. With the Nike Dunk Flip The Old School, however, they managed a good balancing act between the Nike Dunk history and the possible future of the dunk.
We are happy to explain why: The reason for this is the colourway used here, which was used for the first time in 1999 as part of the City Attack release. In combination with the upside down Swoosh, which actually stands for the Nike collabs of the last two years (e.g. Slam Jam and Travis Scott), Nike has managed to combine both worlds. Old-School & New-School!
But let's quickly talk about the shoe, because it's peppered with great details and cool materials. The model, similar to the Air Force already presented, is delivered in a paper whose design can also be found on the printed insole. The pair is mismatched – so the shoes are different – and equipped with the finest materials such as ostrich leather. The model is rounded off by a white midsole and a blue outsole.
