After Supreme released their seven Spring Graphic Tees last week, the Supreme x My Bloody Valentine Spring 2020 Collection follows.
My Bloody Valentine is an Irish-British rock band formed in Dublin in 1983. With their sound, the band pioneered the “Schuegazing” subgenre. The dissonant, boomy and dreamy sound became popular in England in the late 80s. During this time, founding members Kevin Shields and Colm Ó Cíosóig also moved from Dublin to later London. From there, the four with Debbie Googe and Bilinda Butcher formed the groundbreaking core that took the band's obscure sound away from the experimental and into the accessible.
“My Bloody Valentine has influenced generations of musicians and audiences. The band forged new possibilities in how to make noise music, as well as how to listen to and experience it.”supreme
The entire capsule collection was inspired by the band's original album covers. The trucker jacket, green rayon shirt, and a t-shirt design are a nod to Feed Me With Your Kiss . The pink rayon shirt and hoodie traces its origins to the Loveless album. The blue rayon shirt can be found in the My Bloody Valentine promo of the same name and the last t-shirt variant comes from the EP Glider .
As all Supreme Stores in Europe remain closed due to the Corona situation, the Supreme x My Bloody Valentine Spring 2020 Collection will drop on Thursday, April 24 , online only .
