Have you always wanted to know what collabo / collaboration actually means? We are happy to help, because here in our exclusive sneaker lexicon we explain almost all terms of the sneaker scene. And if you can't find a term or something is unclear, please send us a message and we will help you immediately! Would you also like to help us to complete or improve the lexicon? Then let us know what topic you would like to write about!
A collab is a release launched by a brand in conjunction with another brand or a creative individual such as a designer, artist or musician. The design part is always different. While some collaborations only provide input about the colourway, other launches also involve changes or adjustments to the design. The collab between Off-White and Nike is a good example of this.
In some cases, a very own line is released, with its own silhouettes, as is the case with YEEZY or adidas x Pharell Williams, for example.
Although the trend has declined somewhat in recent years, sportswear brands also work with stores such as Patta, KITH or Solebox.
